Louis C.K. is known for being a distinguished funny man, so it came as no surprise when he got a flood of comments on Reddit after he started an “Ask me anything” segment on Reddit.
According to reports, the segment attracted over 6,000 comments in one single hour. Fans apparently were very chuffed about the chance to interact directly with someone so famous. It apparently didn’t matter to fans that Louis C.K., aside from being generous was really plugging his $5 DVD of his latest comic performance—a DVD that incidentally, the comedian is selling through PayPal with little help from advertisers and marketers.The comedian himself was a bit surprised at the response and having prefaced his segment on Reddit with a somewhat timid blog post. He exclaimed that “I have zero idea what is about to happen. I’ll answer as many questions as I can”—a clear sign that outside of the fact he wanted to sell lots of $5 DVDs, he really didn’t know or expect that his Reddit segment would get the level of response it did.
All told, the DVD looks to be selling quite well and fans of the popular comedian seem delighted that they were able to interact live and up close with C.K. In fact, one commentator praised C.K. for being bold and likened him to Conan O’Brian who took the same ‘grassroots’ approach recently when he found himself off the Tonight Show.
