MarketAnalysis.com Domain Sold For $60,000

Sedo is once again showing why it’s the number one aftermarket for really strong domain sales. This time it flexed its domain-muscles with the sale of MarketAnalysis.com for a cool $60,000.

Registered in 1997, the domain has undergone several development changes, though right now it is resolving to the Sedo parking servers. Details of the parties to the sale weren’t forthcoming but at this price that is not surprising at all. Sales north of $50,000 tend to be light on details and it is usually the domaining blogging industry that make a big fuss about the actual buying and selling parties.
Sedo had several other big-value sales including News.co which sold for an even $50,000. One the one hand this isn’t a bad sale, but given the shortness and memorability of the domain, you sort of wonder if it couldn’t have gone for more. Perhaps the fact it was a .Co contributed heavily to how the market valued the domain. After all, although .Cos are now being branded as the domain of choice for companies, those in the domain buying public seem to be sceptical about investing too much in a domain extension that has no clear commercial resonance with the buying public.
Whatever the case though, this week has been a strong showing for Sedo and it’s good to the world’s biggest aftermarket, back to its old ways.
