Deals.org Domain Sold for $32,901

Namejet has scored a small coupe on Sedo by facilitating the sale of Deals.org for a hefty $32,901. The auction was run by Igal Lictman and from the looks of things there was a feeding frenzy. There were a total of 308 bids placed by 250 bidders. But the biggest surprise was that bidders actually went in over $10,000—clearly the domain was seen as must-have.

It’s not clear who the eventual winner was since names and other pertinent details were not released, but speculators are saying that it could very well be an end-user sale. Given the domain, it is not a farfetched at all. Deal.org is ripe for use in the somewhat thriving Daily Deals space dominated by Groupon and LivingSocial. What’s more, such a domain has instant brandability and wouldn’t take long to become the favorite of consumers in the daily deals space.
In the grander scale, it is good to see Namejet making a big sale like this. We are so used to seeing Afternic and Sedo domain the domain aftermarket that a sale like this can actually give you some reassurance that domain buying and selling is vibrant across several platforms. Perhaps now aftermarkets like Sedo will start taking the lesser marketplaces seriously.
