Every now then, a domain is sold (or bought, depending on your perspective), that makes the people watching on scratch their heads. And the sale of Viia.com is one such sale.
Nonetheless, the domain which was first registered in 2001 has gone and the seller, BrandIdentity out of Denmark is now $62,222 richer. I suppose, too, that Sedo has as much to do with the sale as other intrinsic factors surrounding the domain. As an aftermarket, Sedo has such dominance and attracts so many big spenders, that it’s not entirely surprising that some random buyer sitting on 62K decided to have some fun.
We’ll get a chance to see later on if our very ‘loaded’ or ‘mad’ buyer makes Viia.com a success. With a name like that, pretty much anything can be affixed—hopefully though, he’ll pleasantly surprise us with something that make us scratch our heads in amazement.
