Doo.net Raises $6.8 Million To “Reinvent” Paper

There isn’t much that hasn’t been done to make paperwork and office administration easier and more seamless. But one company, Doo.net thinks its found a new and revolutionary way to make things easier for documentation and collaboration in and around the office.

Now, given the subject matter and the exhaustive experiments that have gone on in this area, you’d think Doo.net would have a hard time raising funds—but they are not. According to reports, Doo.net has managed to raise $6.8 million from various VCs to pursue its goal (or should I say fantasy) of reinventing ‘Paper’ and the way we do things in the office. Backers in this first round of funding include DuMont Venture and Angel investors Dr. Hermann Simon and Lars Hinrichs.

You may be wondering at this point, “what on earth does Doo actually do, and how exactly are they going to reinvent paper?” Well, the answer is not so clear—Doo.net isn’t talking. But what I can tell you is that the company plans to target consumers and small businesses and let them send, receive, share, process, organize, securely archive and access digital documents from any device. In essence, Doo.net is looking to reinvent paper by integrating much of the office functions on devices like the iPad, iPhone and other mobile devices.

Nothing g earthshattering when you really think about it but it will be interesting to see what they come up with using $6.8 million.

Can Do.net do what no other company has done for office administration and reinvent office paperwork? Share your thoughts on this amusing little enterprise below.
