Vistaprint Acquires Web.com For $117.5 Million Vistaprint Acquires Web.com For $117.5 Million

When you have to dig deep into your pockets to buy something you always want to know that you are getting value for money. And this is what Vistaprint, the popular small business service provider is hoping with the acquisition of Webs.com. The acquisition is costing Vistaprint a mind boggling $117.5 million, and many experts looking on are simply amazed. Some are even saying that with this acquisition Vistaprint could in a small way corner the market now that is has under its full capability, both print and web based small business services.

For many though, this acquisition was a long time coming. Vistaprint had pretty much made its name as the number one provider of business cards, marketing bumper stickers—even t-shorts. There was simply no way it could have transitioned its business in an efficient manner unless it underwent some sort of inorganic growth. But what a price to gain a foothold in the market? $117.5 million is not chump change by any stretch and this type of purchase is the sort you see at the low-end for big companies like Facebook and Google.
The founders of Webs.com have really done themselves justice and have cashed out rather nicely.
