Lived.com Sold For $20,000

There are many different domain names (web site’s URL’s) on the world wide web today. There are some short ones, some long ones, some are straight to the point and some are unique and creative. Many people do not think about, however, how these web sites get the domain name that they have, or think about the possibility of it being extremely expensive or difficult to get the URL that they would wish to have. One domain name, lived.com recently sold for $20,000! To me that seems extremely expensive however when one looks at how a company or business, whether big or small, could make back that money spent on a domain name, after setting up their business online, it actually is a good and smart move business wise and lends the potential to make this money back and bring in more revenue.

Lived.com was one of many 5 letter domain names that sold recently, however it was the domain name that sold for the highest price. Here is the list of other 5 letter domain names that sold also and their prices:

WhyUs.com $2,650
eFlix.com $18,000
Jatop.com $2,000
MyTub.com  $3,000
Lived.com $20,000
Zonza.com $3,188
Tirco.com $2,413
Pylon.com $12,302
Keddo.com $4, 140
Folie.com $2,617
Meile.com $15,000

eFlix.com came in second for highest price at $18,000 and Meile.com came in third place with a price of $15,000.

It would be interesting to look up each of these domain names and see what kind of web site was designed behind each URL. Especially to see why Lived.com, eFlix.com, and Meile.com sold for such higher prices than domain names such as folie.com, keddo.com, and zonza.com.

No matter how big or small the business, what the company’s purpose is, etc moving a business on to the internet is a smart move all the way around and especially with a strong and easy to remember domain name, even more business could be brought in.
